Are you passionate about food access and economic development in ethnically/racially and socioeconomically diverse communities? Are you an effective communicator that has experience in community outreach and engagement? Terre Foods Cooperative Market is opening a cooperative, full-service grocery store in Terre Haute, IN. We are seeking an experienced, engaged, and visionary General Manager to work with the Board of Directors and a community of owner-members to help open and lead a successful, locally focused grocery store.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

? 3 years’ experience as a manager in a cooperative and/or independent grocery store or at least 5 years of successful grocery store experience in a management role.

? Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, and the ability to evaluate and determine appropriate strategic changes.

? Evidence of excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills, as well as an ability and desire to work across diverse groups

Qualifications:

3 years’ experience as a manager in a cooperative and/or independent grocery store or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a grocery store environment with experience in managing supply chains and analyzing and acting upon financials and sales data.
Must be a proactive and results driven leader with excellent leadership skills, a problem-solving attitude, and high levels of confidence, maturity, accountability, and competence.
Demonstrated excellence in planning, time management, attention to detail, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, active listening skills required. Ability to interact with a diverse range of people and communicate with them effectively.
Demonstrated supervision skills including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and team building. Proven ability to supervise and lead a team of staff for the delivery of high-quality service to customers.
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to courteously interact with a diverse range of clients to ensure positive customer experiences.
Demonstrated ability to work and remain calm under pressure situations, and to address and resolve relevant issues.
Must be a people-oriented team player with the ability to work well independently also.
